There are several ways to modify the structure of a VDR within the “Documents” section:

  • Drag and drop the folders and files:

Use the checkbox next to the file or folder to move several documents at a time.

If automatic indexing is enabled and you move a file, its index will change. The document will be assigned an index of the subsequent element. 

Please keep in mind, that by default, folders always come before files in the document structure.

  • Changing the document order by altering the indices.

To change the index of the document, click on the menu icon and select “Rename”.

After this, you will be able to change the index manually. If a folder or file with a specified index already exists, the subsequent index numbers will be increased by one. The document structure will be re-arranged automatically: the file will be moved in the structure according to the assigned index. 

Having moved the files and folders around, you might want to restore the consecutive numbering. To do this, right-click on the target folder and select "Rebuild index" in the drop-down menu.
